My students finished their summer lessons the week of August 22nd and they have been on a two-week break.  The students work very hard preparing for their lessons and so they deserve a little break before school starts.

Next week, September 12th they will begin the Fall Term (September – December).  This is the time of year when I get to know new students who have started lessons.  For beginners, they get the basics down.  For my existing students, they get back to “hitting the books” (and many times starting a new lesson book) after their fun summer projects.  I wrap up the term with some fun Holiday music and a mini-recital that family members are invited to.  For many beginners, this is their first performance experience!

My studio is on the lower level of my home.  There is a Lab Area with two digital pianos and headphones. This area is used for Warm-Up time 15 minutes before their lesson if they arrive early or the Lab time (15 min) with an assigned task to do after their lesson.

The main studio (pictured above) is for the lessons.  The studio has an acoustic piano and a digital piano.  Each piano has an overhead webcam so that the student and I can see our hands on the piano keys and there is a monitor on each piano that is connected via computer to Zoom. The cameras and monitors are used in both In-Studio and Online lessons.

I am passionate about giving the gift of music to my students and we work together as a team to learn how to have music be a lifelong enjoyment for students of all ages.
